The maker

One pair of hands, by the sea.

The teak house on stilts over the Andaman Sea, drawn: a longtail at anchor, a ladder to the water, a frangipani in bloom, and one bag hanging on the wall
The house, as we draw it. The photograph is coming; the sea is already here.

The island keeps its own hours; this is the light over the house now.

On Koh Lanta, in the old town, the wooden houses stand on stilts above the Andaman Sea, and have for more than a hundred years. In one of them, Sunisa works.

She learned her craft by hand and keeps it slow. Every bag is worked one at a time, in fine cord, against the sound of the tide drawing back across the flats. There is no factory and no rush, only the patience of a single maker.

Because each piece is made to order, no two are exactly alike. Small variations in colour and texture are the quiet signature of something made by a person, not a machine.

Andaman Thread is a family. Sunisa makes every piece by hand, and her husband Misha builds the rest. Their daughters, Panisa and Baibua, come to the house from Ao Luk in Krabi whenever school lets them.

How it began

Misha is Sunisa's husband, and newer to his craft than she is to hers. He taught himself to build for the web in 2026, only a few months before this shop existed. His first project was TheWorldTable.ai. Andaman Thread is the second, and the one he built for love, so that Sunisa's bags, made by hand on a small Thai island, could reach people all over the world.

Every part of this shop he built himself, the words, the design, even the little tool that lets you commission your own bag, worked out by hand the same way she works hers.
